Soccer

Jacob has been playing soccer for a few weeks now. He really enjoys playing soccer and for this being his first year he is pretty good. One game he had 6 goals. I'm the lucky parent who volunteered to coach. I actually enjoy coaching the kids. It's the other coaches (well just one so far) and the competitiveness of the parents that drive me a little crazy! I can't imagine what sports will be like when Jacob is older!!!!!!

Tagged..

So, I know I am terrible about completing my tags. I'm sorry to anyone who tags me and I fail at completing it. It's my goal to be better about staying on top of it so please still tag me if you want.

This tag is you're supposed to post your fourth picture from your fourth folder in your pictures, and then tag others. The way I have my folders set up I have to go to the fourth folder and then to the fourth folder again and then to the fourth picture.

I tag Elaine,Shauni,Mindy,Kendra,Jennifer,Lindsey,Heather, anybody else who wants to :)

This is Jacob and Chloe...

Our portraits....

David and I sat down with a very talented artist and had our portraits painted(colored).
David, who, usually has some sort of facial hair (although he keeps getting callings where it is better if he is clean shaven) has a nice beard in the painting.
Scanning my painting onto the computer doesn't do it justice since you now can not see my glitter eyelashes.
Thank you Chloe for the beautiful portraits of daddy and I!!!

Look at me......

I'm taking steps!!!!! I'm not officially walking just taking a few steps before I fall down. But, don't worry, I'll be WALKING before you know it. I can't wait to run after Jacob and Chloe instead of crawl after them! (That will save me some time) I also have 4 teeth. 2 on top and 2 on bottom. Oh ya, I turn ONE in 41 days, not that I'm counting or anything. Here's some pics my mom took of me today while I was taking some steps. Yea, for me!!!! :)

Adult Gymnastics

So, everytime we are at gymnastics class with our kids, David, (why are we not surprised) wants to do it. He said he has never been able to touch his toes. He was always asking the guy at the front desk about doing an adult class. Well, finally all of the bugging paid off for him! Last night they started their first class. It was free so we could all go and try it out. Obviously since we are all adults there is only so much we can do. The teacher (male, so David doesn't have to feel so alone)said it will be a combination of gymnastics and strenght training.
Class started with warm up and some good stretching. Then off to the spring board to try our hand at hand stands. From there we learned to go from a hand stand to a roll (I don't know the correct term) and then back up to our feet. We also practiced cart wheels. I actually didn't do too bad. David did pretty good too! Imagine that.
Then they had us doing push ups and core (stomach) excercizes. Then off to some leg lifts making sure you TIGHTEN everything (stomach, butt, legs)while doing it. After an hour of all of that EVERYTHING is sore. Escpecially my wrists!!
Now maybe you didn't care to know the whole class is detail, but I know hearing adult gymnastics you may think, "What do you do in that? Walk along the balance beam?" :)

End of summer getaway

A couple of weeks ago we wanted to get away before the summer ends so we decided to head down to San Diego. We went with some friends and spent a day at the beach, swimming in the pool, and bike riding in the evening. The next day we went to Sea World. Chloe loved it! She has such a love of animals so she told me she like it better than Disneyland. The next day we headed to Legoland to check it out. It's perfect for my kids ages. They have little kid rides, a fun water area where the kids can climb and play all while getting drenched, and a lot of interactive things for kids to do. David has always had a love of Legos so his dream came true when we finally were able to go!!! It was a lot of fun to get away but now we are back to reality and Kindergarten for Jacob!! (More on that later) Bella even cut two teeth while we were gone!! Yea, for Bella.

The Shamu show was Chloe's favorite

Jacob and I are at the bottom getting drenched!! Chloe wanted nothing to do with getting wet!

Not the most flattering picture..but hey..at least we're all there!! (We are in a polar bear cave with noises and all. Chloe is making sure one isn't coming around the corner)

These next few pictures are all models built with legos
